Cellulose is the principal component of cell walls in all higher forms of plant life, at varying percentages. It is therefore the most common organic compound and also the most common polysaccharide (multi sugar). Cellulose is a polymeric molecule with very high molecular weight (monomer is glucose), industrial production from wood or cotton, to manufacture paper, plastics and fibres.
